I have been itching to develop the many rolls of film that have been staring me down for the past few months but just haven't had time to get there. Well, I finally found that little break I was looking for and got 4 rolls out of my storage. The film I developed was a mix of HP5 and Delta 400. Most images are with the manual focus Bronica but there are a couple with my trusty Holga :)
Here are a couple of my favorites from these rolls.

I can't believe miss M is two!! Toddlers are always such fun to capture because they are into everything and curious as can be. Even though it was COLD outside, I had a great time hanging out with miss M and her mommy for a fun filled two year old session. Here are a few favorites from our session ;)

I was blessed with an opportunity to photograph sweet miss m along with her mom and dad. She was such a good baby and was quite excited to see what we had in the studio for her. Congrats again mom and dad, it is always so exciting to see an adventure begin :)

So I have upgraded my film camera bag with a medium format camera thanks to my wonderful husband! I Love this camera but darn manual focus on a toddler is ridiculous lol. Anyway, I finally got around to developing some more of the negatives and thought I would share some of our family fun. Poor old daddy got more help than he really needed with the car wash lol but it was fun for everyone else...followed by a swim in the river on a ridiculously hot day, but hey, it beats four feet of snow :)

I finally got my butt in gear and started developing what seemed like a closet full of patiently waiting exposed film from my favorite quirky film camera, my Holga...alright it is my only film camera but I think I may expand into the analog field in the near future. Anyway, here are a couple of my favorites from a rainy/snowy week of indoors weather...soon to come are my happy outdoors sunny pictures lol.

I was inspired to pick up a cheap plastic toy camera this past summer and expand my vision and creating abilities...my little black holga and I went everywhere lol. I took it upon myself to figure out how to develop my own negatives which was not as intimidating as it initially seemed...in fact, I really liked it.

After I shot a roll of film I would go to my laundry room and seal it off making it pitch black...and then miraculously load a roll of film onto a little plastic spool that would go into my developing tank. Needless to say, there were many nights that my husband had to ask if I was okay in the laundry room as I had the occasional dropped roll of film and scramble to find all of the necessary equipment. The picture of my dane with the missing corner is evidence of such a battle lol.

I am currently 10 rolls behind in my developing as it can be quite tricky to time my developing with the needs of a now one year old, but I will get there and enjoy every second of it...even if I am sweating and struggling in the laundry room with film lol. So, without any further reminiscing, here are a few of my favorites from my very first and second roll of 120 film :)

I love having sessions for smooshy little babies...especially since my baby isn't smooshy anymore. Little mr. L wasn't overly sleepy for our session so he made us work pretty hard! Having said that, I think our efforts were worth it, here are a few of my favorites so far, Congrats again mom n' dad, he is such a beautiful baby :)

My husband, the talented wood turner behind ~ Custom Turned ~ has been working long and hard to create this stunning set of nesting natural edge maple bowls. They all started out as one hunk of wood and are then cut into a roughly shaped cylinder to be turned on a lathe. This set was created by making multiple bowls out of that one original hunk of wood with careful attention to preserve the natural bark edge. I have been patiently waiting for this set to be finished and revealed as it is my favorite type of bowl that my husband creates. It is such a fascinating process to watch especially when you can see the very first rough piece of wood right down to the smooth silky sanded finished piece of art! You can feel these bowls first hand at the Riversong Gallery in Neustadt, ON where they are being displayed and offered for sale.

Ahh, I love spring!! We didn't stop going outside over the winter for walks but man it is sooo nice to feel the sun on your back these days :) While we were out lounging in the back yard I managed to get a couple of portraits of Tookie before she smooshed her nose all over my lens lol...I think it was worth the lens cleaning.

I should have posted this a long time ago but things got a little crazy for the holidays! I managed to sneak this shot of my Grandma in before we all sat down to eat our thanksgiving dinner...did I mention I have been busy :P
I love that Grandma is sitting on the piano bench as my sisters and I spent a great deal of time in this very spot while we were growing up. I don't know how she ever managed listening to all of us playing on the piano! I can only hope to age as beautifully and gracefully as she has!

All I can say is what a riot!! Tookie is a gorgeous Great Dane that loves to talk! She is such a ham outside in the snow, and loves to cuddle when she gets back inside :) and I think that she takes quite a nice picture as well!!

I was very excited and privileged to have a last minute session with Dawn last week! We had such a blast going through Holstein taking pictures everywhere!
